Where this documentation comes from, its license, and how to report problems with it.

FreeCORE is an independent fork of TrueNAS® CORE 13.3. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by iXsystems, Inc.

Provenance

Most pages in this documentation are adapted from the TrueNAS® documentation by iXsystems, Inc., rebranded and revised for FreeCORE. Pages describing features FreeCORE added are original to this project. Every page's footer states which of the two it is.

The virtualization section (jails, plugins, virtual machines) is restored from the upstream CORE 13.0 documentation: upstream marked those features obsolete and removed their documentation, while they remain maintained features in FreeCORE.

License

The upstream TrueNAS documentation is licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, and this documentation is published under the same license.

Screenshots

Screenshots are inherited from the upstream documentation and can show TrueNAS branding. The interface layout they show is unchanged in FreeCORE. Screenshots are replaced with FreeCORE captures as pages are revised.

Reporting Documentation Problems

Errors and unclear pages can be reported on the project tracker at codeberg.org/freecore/freecore.
