FreeCORE 15.1-RC8
System certificates mounted into Applications, declared ports kept on the managed network, and the ACME certificate delete fix, in the eighth 15.1 release candidate.
FreeCORE 15.1-RC8 is the eighth release candidate on the 15.1 line. Applications can mount a system certificate, and keep a declared port on the managed network without publishing it on the host. It includes everything in 15.1-RC7.
Release date: 6 October 2026
RC8 is for evaluation, not production. Test it on a system you can restore or reinstall. The published CORE compatibility results do not establish that every catalog application or migrated workload works correctly.
Applications
- A system certificate can be mounted into an application. In the install
or edit form, add one under Certificates and choose the directory it
appears in inside the container; the application finds
cert.pem,chain.pem,fullchain.pemandprivkey.pemthere, read-only. The files are kept in memory, never on the pool, and belong to the user the image runs as (PUID/PGID) unless another user or group is set. A renewal updates them and restarts a running application, unless that is turned off for the certificate. A certificate an application uses cannot be deleted, and Export for Linux leaves it out with a note to attach the certificate on the Linux host. - A declared port can stay on the managed network without being published on
the host: untick Publish on the host for that port in the install or
edit form. Other applications reach it at the application's address on the
managed bridge. The port that opens the application's web page stays
published, and Export for Linux writes a port kept on the bridge as
expose.
Certificates
- Deleting a certificate issued through ACME works again; it stopped with an internal error when the certificate was revoked.
