FreeCORE 15.0-U1.4
OpenVPN restoration and service, Cloud Sync and boot-environment fixes on the maintained 15.0 line.
FreeCORE 15.0-U1.4 continues the maintained 15.0 line, which carries the TrueNAS CORE 13.3 storage, jail, plugin and VM model forward. It restores OpenVPN alongside WireGuard and includes service, Cloud Sync and boot-environment fixes.
Release date: 8 September 2026
Added
- OpenVPN Server and Client return alongside WireGuard. Both OpenVPN services are opt-in and disabled by default. Certificates are retained across the upgrade, but earlier OpenVPN service settings are not restored. Configure and verify the service before enabling it.
Fixed
- Restores the kqueue polling backend in syslog-ng.
- Fixes Cloud Sync tasks that fail against Backblaze S3.
- Fixes the web interface when a rollback boot environment has been removed manually.
- ACME certificate issuance works with an ACME server that returns no account contact, as Let's Encrypt now does; a registration stranded by that failure is repaired in place, and the certificate request is handed to the order in the form the ACME client requires. Added to these notes on 15 September 2026; the fix was part of this release.
