FreeCORE 15.0-U2.0

TrueNAS CORE 13.3 behaviour that earlier 15.0 updates had lost is back, with the security updates and fixes of the 15.1 line that apply to 15.0, on the maintained 15.0 line.

FreeCORE 15.0-U2.0 continues the maintained 15.0 line, which carries the TrueNAS CORE 13.3 storage, jail, plugin and VM model forward. It is a maintenance update for 15.0-U1.9. It brings back behaviour TrueNAS CORE 13.3 had that earlier 15.0 updates had lost, and carries the security updates and fixes of the 15.1 line that apply to 15.0.

Security

• Security and maintenance updates to bundled software: rsync 3.5.1, nginx 1.30.5, OpenVPN 2.6.23, popt, AsyncSSH, PyJWT, urllib3, AnyIO, typing-extensions, GitPython and soupsieve, and the Intel CPU microcode.
• iocage console runs the jail on its own terminal, so a process in the jail cannot inject input into the administrator's host terminal.
• Two unused or obsolete web-interface dependencies with published advisories are removed.

Restored from TrueNAS CORE 13.3

• syslog-ng polls with kqueue again; earlier 15.0 updates ran it on ppoll.
• Replication with a speed limit works again: it failed with throttle: not found and now limits through mbuffer.
• Accounts with the SFTP-only shell scponly can log in again.
• The laundry memory graph and the ARC metadata-miss counters have their collectors back.
• The image ships the GPU firmware set that 13.3 shipped for the Intel, AMD and Radeon graphics drivers.
• WS-Discovery (wsdd) parses network XML with its hardened parser again.

Fixed

• A Shell, jail console or VM serial console session closes when the program in it exits, instead of staying open on a dead terminal.
• Cloud Sync: the OneDrive drive list works again; it is read through Microsoft Graph.
• The debug bundle records boot environments with bectl and enclosures with sesutil instead of failing those sections.
• Pages that follow live data stop their subscriptions when they close, the Network summary no longer raises errors while it loads, and a missing build date no longer stops the interface from starting.
• The return-window status reads the arrival state the updater writes.

Use System > Update on the FreeCORE-15.0-STABLE train, or follow Installing FreeCORE for a fresh installation. Review Update Security and keep a configuration backup before updating.
